It has been 15 years since your tragic accident.Your constant absence is always with me. I miss your beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes; your loving nature shown by your kindness and compassion. I miss your adventurous and fun-loving spirit; your confidence and your love of family. I miss hearing you say "I love you, mom". I miss you each and every day.
Love forever and always

Happy Birthday, my sweet Justin. You would have turned 40 years old on June 12th. I can only imagine what wonderful and meaningful experiences you would have filled your life with over the last 15 years. Our lives have been diminished by not being able to share more of your life’s journey as our son and a brother to Nicole. You always made us proud…your kindness and thoughtfulness, your accomplishments and your fun loving nature. You are missed every single day and we continue to share memories of all the fun we had together. Until we are together again, your loving mom.

Hey hey Keelo. Today you would have joined me in the big 4-0 club. I still think about you so often and always give thought to what my and many other's lives would be like if you were still here in the flesh.
I've been binge watching over and over a show called Cobra Kai (late sequel to karate kid which I'm sure you'd love) and it made me realize something. Despite the fact we are pretty much the same age, you were like my personal Mr. Miyagi, as in you always had the answer. Your positive outlook was constantly radiating, and there have been so many times I could use your insight. But at the end of the day, I think you would be proud of me for the many obstacles and turning points I've overcome or adapted to, but what I wouldn't give to have your encouraging words and validation that you were known for.
I love you homie. And with that, the biggest happy birthday to you! I'm sure the heavens have been shaking as of late, and maybe that's where the recent heat wave came from ;)
You are always in my heart. xoxo and happy big 4 f'n 0 again!

Happy Birthday, buddy. I think this would be your 40th, which is kind of weird to think about. I moved to France a few months ago, trying to life the life i have as fully as i can. My son is picking up the language like a champ and starting to come out of his shell. Wish you were here to see it. Miss you, mang.

Missing today, Mother's Day although there is not a day that goes by that you are not on my mind and in my heart. I will always be your mom and am so grateful for all the love, joy and memories you gave me.

Love forever and always

Just dropping by after we (at SCR9-1-1) were just talking about Justin and the annual Justin Keele Scholarship our employee association gives out. Our association has new blood driving it so after a few years of not giving this scholarship, we are increasing the amount this year to $4,000. This is available for any student who is related to any public safety official in Santa Cruz County.
Just letting you know Justin's memory is still with us at Santa Cruz Regional 9-1-1.

I was going through some drawers today and came across some old photos of a summer vacation in Tahoe (~1996). Your friend John was with us. You looked so happy; your future was so bright and promising. It breaks my heart that you are not here with us and you were unable to live your dreams. I miss you so very much. The pain of your loss is always with me.

Love forever and always

Fourteen years does not diminish the loss of you. We miss you as a son, brother, cousin and friend. I hold your memory closely in my heart and am grateful for every moment we shared.

Love forever and always

Happy belated birthday, buddy. This past year has been a trying time for our group of friends. Heartbreak, struggles with addiction, depression, and a general distancing. I think of you often when considering how best to handle this and I believe a quote from Mr. Mom summarizes best -- "It's really easy to forget what's important. So don't". I try to think of how I can live that out with your life and our time together as inspiration.

Not all is negative though. With the passing of this last winter, fresh starts are beginning and hope is being replenished. I have hope that reconnection will happen soon and bring with it more meaningful bonds.

This last weekend, a bunch of friends got a cabin together to celebrate Dexter's birthday. We all got to watch Sara B host the Tonys together, which was a pretty amazing thing to see. Jodi taught a brief zumba class in the living room which, to the untrained eye, appeared on par with Sara's singing in terms of skill level. Some things never change.

My son Harrison is getting bigger and more interesting. He is not squirrelly in any way, but does manage to make oafy look cute. I wish you could meet him.

Miss you, mang!
